Today thriveOn Creative was pleased to launch a new website developed for the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Swenson College of Science and Engineering (www.d.umn.edu/scse/). The goal in redesigning the department’s website was to bolster its image in the collegiate community by matching the caliber and professionalism of the college and its educators. In addition the department was seeking to increase the efficiency of the website by improving navigation and more promptly providing information to students, faculty and alumni. A challenge to working with a college is properly managing large quantities of information. We met this challenge by organizing data into manageable chunks compacted within the web-pages. These pieces could then be easily expanded and contracted allowing large amounts of information to be contained within a single page and eliminating the need to navigate long series of links. The result is a website with large amounts of information neatly and usably packed into a professional, elegant design.
